Recovering from Trauma

I take a holistic approach to trauma healing by integrating Somatic Experiencing, Grounding Exercises, Cognitive Restructuring, and Compassionate Inquiry. These therapeutic methods work together to address both the emotional and physical aspects of trauma, helping clients reclaim a sense of safety, balance, and empowerment.

Somatic Experiencing focuses on the body’s role in trauma, guiding clients to tune into physical sensations and release stored emotional energy. By becoming aware of how trauma manifests in the body, clients can regulate their nervous system and begin to heal without feeling overwhelmed by intense emotions. Grounding exercises help clients reconnect with the present moment, providing tools to calm anxiety and prevent dissociation. Whether through mindfulness or focusing on bodily sensations, these techniques create stability and a sense of control.

Cognitive Restructuring is designed to challenge and shift negative thought patterns formed from trauma. Clients learn to identify distorted beliefs, such as feeling unworthy or unsafe, and replace them with healthier, more compassionate perspectives. Lastly, Compassionate Inquiry helps uncover deeply rooted emotions and unmet needs tied to past experiences. Through empathetic exploration, this approach fosters self-awareness and emotional healing, allowing clients to understand and transform the beliefs and behaviors shaped by their trauma.

By combining these methods, clients experience a comprehensive approach to healing—working through both their emotional wounds and physical responses to trauma. This empowers them to regain agency, improve their emotional resilience, and cultivate a greater sense of well-being.
